Carl H Brown Jr
Pastor Carl, raised in a christian home by his parents Carl and Amelia Brown, developed an
early love for God’s people. His passion for teaching and encouraging others through their
journey and relationship with the Lord is genuine and can be felt through acts of care, love, and
wisdom.
Personal Life
Pastor Carl was born in Philadelphia PA, but was raised in Willingboro NJ, by his parents Carl H
Brown Sr and Amelia Brown (affectionately called MiMi). Carl was brought up involved in
ministry and service at his childhood church, Mt Pisgah UHC in North Philadelphia.
Carl was an active child, enjoying the outdoors, after school activities and band throughout
grade school. After high school Carl attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Playing the
trumpet was and is a great joy for Carl. While at university Carl started working in the hospitality
industry. He would soon find out that he had a God given gift for hospitality and service.
Hospitality soon became Carl’s career choice. With over 25 years of hotel experience Carl is a
highly sought after Hospitality Executive.
In 1997, Carl married the love of his life, Sandra Dee, on December 13. Together they have five
(5) children; Carlissa, Carlee, Carla, Carl III, and Carlina; and one granddog Rosie. Through the
many years of joy and delight, as well as trials and hardships, the Brown family is a testament to
God’s unwavering hand, grace, and faithfulness.
Ministry
Carl has been pastoring at First Pentecostal UHC since 2014. Prior to becoming the pastor of
FPC, Carl was the assistant pastor to his father Elder Carl H Brown Sr. here at FPC. Hard work,
stewardship and service have been a part of Carl’s character even as a young man. Working,
attending school, staying active in church ministry, playing in a christian band that he and his
friends founded, and serving in multiple capacities at his childhood church, Mount Pisgah UHC,
Carl is no stranger to ministry work and there is no hesitation to roll up his sleeves and get the
job done.
During his pastorate here at FPC, Pastor Carl has encouraged and educated the members and
guests in the Word of God. He is passionate about sharing the love of Christ and witnessing his
brothers and sisters in Christ receive their “ah ha” moment, through retreats, conferences, bible
studies, prayer, and fellowship.
Pastor Carl received his ministerial education and training through Eastern PA Education
Center, United Christian College, and Linconia Tabernacle School of Ministry. He is licensed as
an Elder and Pastor through United Holy Church of America Inc.
